Tech:difference between Transformer Overcurrent Test And Temperature Rise Test2024-05-27

Tech:difference between Transformer Overcurrent Test And Temperature Rise Test

What is the difference between ordinary high current generator and fully automatic temperature rise experiment system? Why is there such a big price difference between the two?

1. Overcurrent test

The overcurrent test is to verify the performance of the transformer under rated load and short-term overload conditions. In this test, the transformer should be able to withstand the rated current and short-term overload current for the required time without causing damage or failure. This kind of testing requires the use of special test equipment, such as high-voltage power supplies and current generators. This test can evaluate the performance of the transformer and prevent damage to the transformer and safety accidents caused by improper use before it is put into use.

2. Temperature rise test

The temperature rise test is to verify the operation of the transformer under rated load. During this test, the transformer should be able to withstand the rated load and not exceed the specified temperature range during operation. This test requires measuring the surface temperature of the transformer and recording it for comparison. If the operating temperature of the transformer is higher than the rated value, there may be a risk of damage and aging of the transformer.

3. The importance of the two tests

Overcurrent test and temperature rise test are both important means of performance testing of transformers. In the overcurrent test, the load characteristics of the transformer can be evaluated, as well as its ability to withstand rated current and short-term overload. In the temperature rise test, the safety performance of the transformer when operating under rated load can be verified, thereby preventing the transformer from burning out due to high temperature. In addition, these two tests are also to ensure that the transformer complies with national standards and safety regulations before being put into use.

To sum up, overcurrent test and temperature rise test are both commonly used transformer detection methods, but their purpose and test content are different. Through the correct use and implementation of these two tests, the normal operation of the transformer can be ensured, equipment protected, accidents reduced, and production efficiency improved.
