Tech: Calibrating of whole measuring system
Partial discharge measurement is a useful tool to analyze the insulation of high voltage components. However, partial discharges can usually not be measured directly, just the apparent charge of such signals are captured by the measuring instrument. Therefore a calibration of the whole measuring system is required in principle. Hereby short-duration current pulses of known charge magnitude are injected into the system, and by this a scale factor can be calculated for later PD measurements.
Application and Use
The PD calibrator is to provide a known impulse into the PD measuring system to know how much PD that the PD measuring system itself is producing.
HV Hipot Tester offers different models of calibration charge injectors suitable for use in calibrating partial discharge measurements.
Simple to Use
Small and inexpensive battery-powered.The calibrator is switched on with the dial 0, 5, 50, 100, 500pc. The frequency can be adjusted around 1.2 KHz (correction pulse synchronization adjustment).
It is suitable as a correction pulse generator for a large number of field tests and factory product tests.
